Explore a NatureType
Role required: Teacher, Counselor, or Administrator
This workflow takes you from a student’s active NatureTypes to the full NatureType description — including the cross-cultural expressions and connected skills. Useful before a career or direction conversation with a student.
-
Open a student’s Student Profile from Classes or the Counselor Queue.
-
Scroll to the Active NatureTypes section.
-
Click the name of any NatureType. The NatureTypes explorer opens.
-
The explorer shows:
- The NatureType name and a plain-language description of the pattern
- Cross-cultural expressions — how this pattern appears across different settings and historical contexts
- Connected skills — capabilities that tend to develop naturally from this combination of Natures and Intelligences
- Career areas — broad directions where this NatureType tends to find engagement
-
Use the back button in the explorer to return to the student’s profile.
Using this in a student conversation
Section titled “Using this in a student conversation”The NatureType description is written to be readable with a student — not just about them. In a career or direction conversation, try opening the NatureType explorer together and asking the student: “Does this description feel accurate to you?” or “Which of these career areas sounds interesting, even if you’re not sure why?”
That reaction — whether the description resonates or does not — is often a more useful data point than the score itself.
