What is the Dashboard?

The MN School Dashboard shows you each student’s MN Profile. The profile is built from the student’s own answers to the MN assessment. It tells you how they tend to engage — not whether they are performing well or behaving correctly.

Use it alongside what you already know. Your observations matter. The MN Profile adds a different angle — one your gradebook, attendance record, and behavior log don’t capture.

Key point: All profile information is context for your judgment, not a replacement for it. The dashboard helps you ask better questions. It does not answer them for you.

Each student’s profile has three layers.

Nine Natures — engagement modes. Each Nature shows how naturally a student tends to engage through a particular mode. Administrative. Creative. Healing. Entrepreneurial. And so on. A high score indicates that mode tends to feel energizing. A low score indicates it tends to take more effort. Neither is good or bad — it depends on the situation. See Nine Natures.

Ten Intelligences — capacity channels. Each Intelligence shows the kinds of thinking a student tends to draw on most readily. Logical. Interpersonal. Linguistic. Spatial Visual. And so on. These are not academic ability scores. They show what kinds of thinking tend to feel like assets for that student. See Ten Intelligences.

NatureTypes — named patterns. NatureTypes are patterns that appear when specific Natures and Intelligences are active together. A student usually has one to three active NatureTypes. Each has a name, a plain-language description, and links to skills and career directions that tend to align with that pattern. See NatureTypes.

Students complete the MN assessment once. It is a self-report — a set of questions students answer about themselves. There are no right or wrong answers. It takes about 20 minutes.

The results generate the student’s MN Profile. Staff view that profile in the dashboard. Staff do not create or edit the scores. If a student’s data looks wrong, contact support.

  • Individual MN Profiles — Natures, Intelligences, NatureTypes, career starting points, and (for counselors and admins) flags and notes
  • Profile completion by class — how many students in each class have a complete profile
  • Counselor Queue — students flagged for counselor attention, sorted by priority
  • Aggregate reports — school-level and class-level pattern summaries

The dashboard does not track grades, attendance, or behavior. It does not diagnose conditions. It does not connect to your SIS or LMS. It does not generate recommendations that override your judgment.
